_ PENNY LANE CONSIGNMENT
Our consignment program is for those of you that have large, quality
collections - new or used, but you’ve hesitated selling it only because
you know Amoeba and virtually every other record store (except Penny
Lane, of course) will pay amoeba-cents. Often, stores might hurriedly buy an item
from you for next to nothing, then, when pricing it, discover that it is
worth significantly more, and sell it for an obscene profit. This
cannot happen with our consignment program because you receive a set 65% of the final selling price.
At the end of 2009, we put our store inventory out to the world by selling on Amazon. Since then, we’ve become a top seller, and have maintained an incredibly rare 100% positive customer feedback rating, which Amazon customers seek out. To you, this translates into quick turnaround time, and enables us to sell each of your items for more.
Only quality titles and collections are eligible for this program, but if we make the determination that yours might benefit, and you can give us 60 days to sell it, you will net significantly more than any other record store would ever pay up front - and that, admittedly, includes Penny Lane Records. If interested, please read on.

WE WORK HARD FOR YOU - HERE'S WHAT WE'LL DO:
_• pick up your collection, or you may drop it off
• determine the condition of each item (media and artwork)
• determine a strategic starting price for each item, then evaluate and adjust it daily to maximize your competitive edge
• generate and provide you with your complete inventory report
• present your items in the best possible light, replacing damaged cases as required
• safely store and insure each item
• provide a photograph of each item
• list and describe each item
• handle all inquiries and other communication
• handle the payment and transaction
• professionally pack and ship each item sold
After your collection has been listed for 60 days, payment will be provided with a report showing the final sale price of each item. At that time, Amazon’s fee of 15% plus 80 cents per item will be deducted only for items sold. We’ll buy any remaining items, adding them to your payment, or you may elect to take them back.

CONSIGNMENT VS. CASH UP FRONT
_To illustrate, if you were
to sell us an item that we estimate might sell quickly for $20, we would
pay $7 in cash up front, or $14 in store credit. If an item sold for
$20 on consignment, you’d get $13 in cash, which is nearly double. Even
after deducting Amazon fees, and considering that Penny Lane pays the
highest cash amount up front, consignment works to your advantage - even
more so with higher selling items. If you can wait 60 days to be paid,
it’s the way to go. If not, we’ll still pay more up front than anyone else.
